10-21-2015 Meeting Minutes




                                  REDDING TOWNSHIP


                           October 21, 2015



The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.

 Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

 Board Members Present: Supervisor Krchmar – absent, Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee Mann and Trustee McGlashen.

 Guest: Nancy Scarbrough, Linn Pruden, Carolyn Pruden, Dale Majewski, Charlie Card, Bob Shaible, Sargent Miller, Deputy Feger, Marybeth Trzcienski, Mike Trzcienski, Patricia Gauthier and Edward Uber.


 Guest Speakers:

 Dale Majewski – Clare County Commissioner,

 There will be an election in April the Clare County Transit wording on the ballot in August was not correct.

Clare County Sheriff – Sargent Miller introduced Deputy Feger he’s a new deputy with the Sheriff’s Department. Sargent Miller asked if anyone had any questions or problems.

39 were reported

Motion to Approve September 16th and October 7th 2015 Meeting Minutes.

A motion to accept the minutes was made by Trustee McGlashen /Treasurer Gruber –Motion carried.


Treasurer’s Report:

The Treasurer’s report was reviewed. Treasurer Gruber said she’s had an increase in credit card activity this past month.



Clerk Borgula announced she is looking for Election Inspectors for 2016.

Transfer Station Attendant

The Township Board accepted a bid to have Robert Uber to fill Linn Pruden’s remaining contract. Robert will start November 22, 2015.

Township Hall Repair

Tom Krchmar replaced the bond around the hall with aluminum. Mike Trzcienski asked why the lawn service insurance didn’t cover the damage. Clerk Borgula suggested he contact Supervisor Krchmar he would be able to answer his question more accurately.


 Trustee Opening

Trustee Mann’s last meeting will be November 22nd. Applications are available for the positon and will be accepted until November 6th.The people who applied for the positon will be notified when the Board decides to interview for the position.


Cemetery Tree Removal

Supervisor Krchmar received a bid to take down 6 trees and remove the stumps. Clerk Borgula said to wait until spring she’ll have a better idea if it can be done in the current budget.


Quickbooks payroll

Clerk Borgula told the Board the 2016 payroll will be around $540.00—she suspects it’s going to be slightly higher than last year.Next year Quickbooks will have to be updated along with the payroll.

Pre- Approve John Chambers for the fall clean up

A motion was made by Treasurer Gruber/ Trustee Mann to pay John Chambers for the final fall cleanup before the next meeting if he completes the cleanup–but not before it is discussed with Supervisor Krchmar regarding the damage to the Township Hall building. Motion carried.  


Public Comment:

Linn Pruden announced the winter hours for the Transfer Station as of November 1st it will go back to Sunday’s from 9 am- 4 pm. Sandy Mann announced the Harvest dinner will be November 21st. at 4:30pm the time is still pending.

The Holiday party will be December 12th more information will follow. Marybeth Trzcienski recited the open meeting act and asked why the Special Meeting was not posted on the website.  

Approval of Bills:

Checks #2723-2741 and payroll withholding equaling $7006.71. A motion was made by Treasurer Gruber /Trustee McGlashen.- Motion carried.

Motion to Adjourn– Trustee Mann/ Treasurer Gruber at 7:25 pm.
