Unapproved Redding Township Board Meeting
February 18, 2015
The meeting came to order at 7:00 pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Board Members Present: Supervisor Krchmar, Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber and Trustee McGlashen. Absent– Trustee Mann.
Guests: Carolyn Pruden, Linn Pruden, Dale Majewski, Dave Gruber, Chelsey Vaughn, Kay Ulman and Wayne Ulman.
Dale Majewski – Clare County Commissioner:
A new security system has been installed in the Clare County Court Building — you will now have to go through a metal detector before entering the court room. Clare County Commissioners are now meeting twice a month. Public act MCL 5045 has passed in the house and senate allowing golf carts on secondary roads.
Clare County Sheriff‘s report had 26 incidents in Redding Township.Supervisor Krchmar attendedthe localMTA meeting–he reminded Clerk Borgula the election equipment will be serviced March 6th. At the Clare County building. Supervisor krchmar asked if the M.T.A. (Michigan Township Association) payment that was made last month is for 2014 or 2015 Clerk Borgula thought it was for 2015 but she will look into it.
Approval of Meeting Minutes:
A motion was made by Treasurer Gruber and Supported by Trustee McGlashen to approve the January 21, 2015 meeting minutes. Board Members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, and Trustee McGlashen – Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed. Supervisor Krchmar asked Treasurer Gruber is she had any further contact with Kim Halis from Clare County Equalization – Treasurer Gruber reported she hadn’t had anymore further conversations with her regarding the errors in printing of the 2014 property taxes.Treasurer Gruber reported 85 % of property taxes have been paid to date– it was slightly above last year’s collection.
Clerk Borgula told the board there will be a shortage on the budget in elections she will have a better idea next month on what will be needed to amend the budget. Clerk Borgula said the State of Michigan will be reimbursing the township for the election.

Board of Review:
The dates were set for Board of Review – Organizational meeting will be March 3rd. at 5:00 pm. Open to the public will be Monday March 9th. From 9:00 am – 3:00 pm and Tuesday March 10th. From 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Board of Review to meet Thursday March 12th. at 9:30.
Board of Review Poverty Exemption Resolution:
A roll Call vote was called by Clerk Borgula to adopt the poverty exemption for 2015 property taxes. Supervisor Krchmar yes – Treasurer Gruber yes – Clerk Borgula – yes and Trustee McGlashen – yes. Resolution # 1208 has passed.
Board of Review classes:
Supervisor Krchmar reported Dale Pierce was ill and unable to attend the class on February 16th. Dave Gruber found the class very informative. Dave Gruber purchased a new book for the Board of Review.
Board of Review Refreshments:
A motion was made by Trustee Maglashen and supported by Clerk Borgula to allow $25.00 to buy refreshments for the Board of Review. Board Members in Favor – Treasurer Gruber, Clerk Borgula and Trustee McGlashen – Motion carried. Clerk Borgula and Trustee McGlashen will furnish the meals.
A date was set for the budget workshop March 11th. At 5:00 pm.
Approval of Bills:
Check # 2557-2572 and payroll equaling $4896.89. A Motion was made by Treasurer Gruber and Supported by Clerk Borgula. Board Members in Favor – Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, and Trustee McGlashen. Motion carried.
With no further Business:
A Motion was made by Clerk Borgula and Supported by Trustee McGlashen to adjourn the meeting. Board Members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber and Trustee McGlashen. Motion carried at 7:59 pm.
