      UNAPPROVED REDDDING TOWNSHIP

              BOARD MEETING MINUTES

                          MAY 20, 2015

 

 The meeting was called at 7:03pm followed by the pledge of Allegiance.

 

Board Members Present: Supervisor Krchmar, Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann.

Guests: Carolyn Pruden, Linn Purden, David Gruber, Dale Majewski.

 

Guest Speakers:

 Dale Majewski- Clare County Commissioner.

 Animal live trap deposits from the Clare County Animal Shelter will increase from $10 to $20 rental fee remains at $10. Litter drop offs will increase to $25.

 

The Clare County Sheriff’s department will be auctioning off several vehicles and boats. No date has been set.

 The sheriff’s department received a grant to purchase body microphones and cameras for road patrol.

 

Correspondence:

 

Clare County Sheriff’s report had 48 incidents.

 

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

A motion to accept the minutes with the correction of the word Clarence Rd.  not Clearance Rd. was made by  Treasurer Gruber and Supported by Trustee McGlashen. Board Members in Favor – Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. – Motion Carried.

Treasurers Report:

 The Treasurer’s report was presented and reviewed. Treasurer Gruber reported she received the delinquent settlement check from the County Treasurer.

 

Clerk’s Report:

Clerk Borgula reported the May election went well.

There will be another election August 4th. Clare county Transit is going for a bond renewal.
Clerk Borgula told the Board needs to replenish her supplies for the next upcoming election. A Motion was made by Trustee Mann and Supported by Treasurer Gruber to allow up to $100.00 for supplies. Board Members in favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. – Motion Carried.

 

Clerk Borgula thanked Carolyn Pruden for helping her put new flags on the Veterans graves in the cemetery.

 

Activities:

Roadside cleanup has been canceled no new date has been set.

 Old Business:

 Budget- The new budget was presented for the year 2015-2016.

 

New Business:

Foreclosed Property

 Supervisor Krchmar received a foreclosure list from Clare County Treasurer with two land parcels that are available in the Township. The Board declined the properties.

 A motion was made by Clerk Borgula and Supported by Trustee Mann to sign the Wavier of First Right of Refusal for the properties. Board Members in favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. – Motion Carried.

 

 Dump Cards:

 A motion was made By Trustee Mann and supported by Clerk Borgula

To have 250 dumps cards printed by Clare County Cleaver in the amount of $12.00.

Board Members in favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann – Motion Carried.

 Clare County Equalization:

Supervisor Krchmar presented a contract from Clare County Equalization for 2015 tax year. At a cost of $822.00. Supervisor Krchmar feels Redding Township should be reimbursed for any additional cost that are due from errors that are caused by Clare County Equalization. The discussion was tabled until June’s meeting so the rest of the board can review the contract.

 Tire Grant Recycling Volunteers:

A motion was made by Treasurer Gruber and Supported by Trustee Mann to pay the volunteers at $10.00 an hour and be paid right after they work on June 18th. &  July 23rd. 

Board Members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. Motion Carried.

 

A list of times, dates and sizes of tires that are allowed will be posted at the Redding Township Hall.

 

Tree Planting in Cemetery:

A family asked permission to put  tree tree in remembrance of their sister. A Motion was made by Clerk Borgula and Supported by Trustee Mann to allow the tree to be planted. Board Members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. Motion Carried.

 Treasurer’s Stamps:

A Motion was made by Clerk Borgula and Supported by Trustee McGlashen to allow the purchase of postage stamps up to $300.00. Board Members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. Motion Carried.

 

 

 

Public Comment:

 Clerk Borgula reported Ken Lind — Lind & Lind insurance company brought donuts in on May Election Day.

Linn Pruden reported the two roll offs are filling up slower than previous year.

 

Approval of Bills:

A Motion was made by Trustee McGlashen and Supported by Treasurer Gruber to approve

Check # 2614 – 2637 and payroll withholding equaling $6596.56.

 Board members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. – Motion Carried.

Adjournment:

A motion was made by Treasurer Gruber and supported by Clerk Borgula to adjourn at 8:43 pm. Board members in Favor- Clerk Borgula, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Mann. – Motion Carried.
