September 20, 2017

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.

Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

 Board Members Present: Supervisor Borgula, Clerk Galloway, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Scarbrough.

  • Guests: Dale Majewski, Ed Uber, Linda Miller, Bob Schaible, Donna Schaible, Dave Bondie, Deepak Gupta, Ray Borgula

Agenda – Additions or Deletions – None

  • Public Comment: Linda Miller asked if there was anyway the bridge to the old campground could be fixed? Supervisor Borgula stated that no one is claiming it and it would be to costly to repair – in 2012 the repair cost was quoted at $500,000. Road Commission will look into it.
  • Clerk Galloway – Trick or Trucking has been scheduled for Oct. 28, 2017 – Is looking for anyone that would like to help please call her at 586 722-4052.
  • Guest Speakers: Deepak Gupta & Dave Bondie – Clare County Road Commission – Gave an update of projects completed over the summer as well as what they are hoping to complete by the end of the year.

 Guest Speaker: Dale Majewski – Clare County Commissior: Met with the owner of the Airport in Harrison and they presented a 5 year plan and they are hoping to apply for Grants.

Adopted a resolution for their budget for 2018.

  • Approval of Special Meeting Minutes: 08/16/2017 Motion made by Treasurer Gruber to approve minutes as written Supported by Trustee Scarbrough all in favor Motion carried.

 Supervisor Report:      

Policy Workshop Update – A Board workshop was held to set in place a policy book. We all came together and worked very hard on this policy book: we will be creating a handbook to coincide with the Policy Book which will have each Board members roles and duties. Motion was made by Supervisor Borgula to adopt the Policy Book. Supported by Treasurer Gruber All in favor Motion carried.

 Opt out Resolution for Medical Marihuana – Motion was made to Opt Out by: Supervisor Borgula Supported by: Treasurer Gruber

Snowplowing Bids – Express Snowplowing said they would honor quote of $55.00 a push for Transfer Station

$75.00 a push Twp Hall.

Motion was made to renew the contract for the 2017/2018 made by: Supervisor Borgula Supported by: Trustee McGlashen All in favor motion carried.

L-4034 – Harrison pulls .66 on their Mileage and we are a little ahead so Supervisor Borgula is comfortable with pulling .70 on 2017 Winter Tax.

Clerk Report:

F65 – Motion was made to have the Auditor do the F65 which will run around $500.00 by: Trustee McGlashen

Supported by: Treasurer Gruber All in favor – motion carried

Vacant Lot Bids – We didn’t receive a single bid. I think we should put it back up without a minimum bid. Clerk Galloway will post on website as well as Hall.

Election Equipment – The new equipment was delivered to the Hall / the old equipment should be picked up sometime in November.        

·         Treasurer Report:    

  Update- End of Summer tax season 80% collected

       Sheriff’s Report: 43 calls – 2 Fire Reports Power Line / Overheated Car    

      Unfinished Business – Trees in Cemetery – Supervisor Borgula received 3 bids:  Kelly’s – Joe’s – Hilyard  A motion was made to accept the best bid of $2,800 from Kelly’s by: Trustee McGlashen Supported by: Treasurer Gruber All in favor Motion carried.

 New Business                            

         Notary Public – At this time the Township will not be renewing the Notary licenses.

           Public Comment: None

 Approval of Bills:

Motion to approve checks 3307 – 3333 and Withholding of $425.34 equaling $6,450.32

Motion to approve was made by Supervisor Borgula and Supported by Trustee McGlashen. All in favor. Motion carried.

  • Motion to adjourn: Made by Clerk Galloway and Supported by Trustee McGlashen. All in favor. Motion carried.
