MEETING MINUTES

January 17, 2018

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.

Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Board Members Present: Supervisor Borgula, Clerk Galloway, Treasurer Gruber, Trustee McGlashen and Trustee Scarbrough.

Additions or Deletions to Adgenda: N/A

Guest: Mike Galloway, Dale Majewski, Edward Uber, Lori Martin, Michael Trzcienski

 Public Comment: N/A

Guest Speaker: Dale Majewski – Clare County Commissioner: Gave an update / Parks and Recreation could possibly be getting some land donated for a road side park. They also approved all the committees for this year and scheduled all the meeting dates for this year.

Guest Speaker: Lori Martin – County Clerk: Gave an update / They hired two new employees, one was a new position. Deadline to schedule a May election is next week, she has not heard at this point of anyone having one.

She will be holding Election Inspector classes in July – she will give Clerk Galloway the date as soon as it is scheduled. And she will be holding the classes every year instead of every 2 years.

CPL licenses will have a new more official look to them, if you have already have yours they are not going to make you get the new one.

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

A motion was made to approve 12/20/2017 meeting minutes Motion made by Supervisor Borgula supported by Trustee McGlashen

Supervisor:

BOR Dates – Organizational meeting March 6, 2018 9:00 am March 12th Public Hearings 9:00 – 3:00 March 13th Public Hearings

3:00 – 9:00 March 15th 9:00 am Board of Review Meets.

BOR Class – Motion was made to send the 4 BOR members to training in Cadillac Feb. 7, 2018 at the cost of $30.00 each by: Clerk Galloway Supported by: Trustee Scarbrough all in favor Motion carried.

Resolution #1220 to Adopt Povety Exemption Income Guidelines and Asset Test – motion to adopt resolution was made by: Clerk Galloway Supported by: Supervisor Borgula Roll call vote: Supervisor Borgula yes   Clerk Galloway yes Treasurer Gruber yes Trustee McGlashen yes Trustee Scarbourgh yes all in favor Resolution #1220 adopted.

Resolution #1221 Resolution to Allow Letters of Protest – motion to adopt resolution was made by: Trustee McGlashen Supported by: Trustee Scarbrough Roll call vote: Supervisor Borgula yes Clerk Galloway yes Treasurer Gruber yes Trustee McGlashen yes Trustee Scarbrough yes all in favor Resolution #1221 adopted.

Clerk:

Modem Cost – Spoke with Election Source and it would be $295.00 for the modem and the first 6 months cell service is free then it would be $15.00 a year. We do have the ability to use our internet to send our tabulated totals to the county via internet already.

Clerk Galloway is going to have the Hall landline disconnected the cost has gone up to around $50.00 a month for a service we can’t even call out on unless it’s an 800 number.

Laptop – Clerk Galloway asked the Board to TABLE the purchase of a new laptop at this point, the one she is using now works fine.

 Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer Gruber presented her report.

Sheriff’s Incidents: 30 calls 2 Fire Reports 1 – lift assist 1- Fire Alarm

Old Business:

Generator – Supervisor Borgula did get a quote of $639.00 to have the hall wired. She also suggested a Standby Generator would cost aroung $4000.00 and $800.00 installation – we could start budgeting in the monies over a couple years to cover the cost if that is the way we decide to go. Was TABLED for now.

New Business:

Public Hearing Date for Possible Road Millage – Date was set for June 9, 2018 11:00 am. The Road Commission will have a couple representatives at the meeting. Board is looking into possibly mailing out letters or postcards to notify property owners as well as posting on Board in front of the Hall.

 Approval of Bills:

A motion was made to void check 3409 in the amount of $47.90 / leaving the new total $6,173.02 to accept bills by Trustee Scarbrough and supported by Trustee McGlashen to approve check # 3398 – 3418 and federal withholding of $429.02 equaling $6,173.02 All in favor- Motion carried.
